Freshwater Tropical Fish

Aquascope has an extensive range of freshwater tropical fish and is one of the largest suppliers of tropical fish in the UK. We have over 100 large tanks and house a diverse range of fascinating freshwater tropical fish to keep our tropical fish customers content. We also order our tropical fish direct so that the savings are passed on to the customer. All of our freshwater tropical fish stock is quarantined and new shipments arrive weekly.

We have a perfect selection of freshwater tropical fish for the beginner or the advanced tropical fish keeper. We stock many species of freshwater tropical fish including Tetra, swordtail, mollies and barbs to name but a few but also have a range of rare and unusual species of freshwater tropical fish.

Aquascope stock fish from the Amazon river and have even created an “Amazon style” freshwater tropical fish exhibit in the Jungle Room which represents the Amazon River. The Amazon has the widest range of tropical fish in the world, which encompasses the most diverse ecosystem. As many as 5000 species of fish may inhabit the Amazon River including discus, stingray, neon tetra and catfish. We also showcase our special Arowana fish in the Jungle Room. These fish are known by the Chinese to have spiritual qualities. It is said that they bring good luck and fortune because of their gold and red colours, symbolizing the dragon. These mythical “Arowana” fish are worth over £20,000 and have been given a new home in a 900 gallon aquarium.

We have one of the best Discus stocks in the UK. Discus are tropical freshwater cichlid fish which are native to the Amazon river. They have played a big part in the company's heritage. 'Punchard Discus' purchased Aquascope in 2002 and the refurbishment meant that our Discus breeding programs had to be put on hold until now! We are breeding quality above anything else.
